First and foremost we hope that this email finds you safe and well.
Like the rest of the world, USARC has experienced some unique challenges as we have progressed from the spring and through the summer. However, those challenges do not hold us back as we now set our sights on to the 26th Annual Peak to Peak Pedal (P2P26).
USARC has a long history of living to adapt and adapting to live. Our ride will take place as planned starting on Wednesday, October 7th in Big Bear and concluding on Sunday, October 11 in Mammoth. This year’s ride is all about adapting.  While keeping the P2P Vibe, we’ll be adapting the way we do some things along the road to incorporate CDC guidelines for everyone’s wellbeing. Whether you are an avid cyclist, weekend warrior, or you just take the occasional roll around the block to feel the breeze on your face, come join us!
If wheels and spokes aren’t your thing or you are a former rider and can’t make the journey this year (We’ll miss you!), donate to support your favorite rider or just the ride in general!
Peak to Peak is the key fundraiser that supports a substantial portion of our annual budget. We simply cannot understate the importance of the dollars raised by Peak to Peak in supporting USARC’s programs.  They keep our prices low which enables us to provide life-changing programs to a broader spectrum of the community. Peak to Peak also funds the training of our selfless volunteers and helps us purchase specialized adaptive equipment.
Don’t think you’re up to the 335-mile route? We have adapted for you-This year’s Peak to Peak includes a virtual option. You can participate on your favorite local trail, loop, or home trainer. You still have the same distance and fundraising goals, but a little more leeway in adapting (there’s that word again) the miles to your schedule, pace, and equipment. You can do however many miles you’d like each day, and you can start whenever you want! While more details will follow in subsequent communications the basics are:
  • Sign up and start gathering donations.
  • Raise $500 by September 7th to get your P2P26 T-Shirt.
  • Raise $2500 and complete the 335 total miles by October 11th to get your Medal and P2P Jersey
  • Track your miles in your favorite app (Strava, Ride with GPS, Cyclemeter etc) or just snap a pic of your bike computer
  • Send some selfies from your rides to go into our P2P Slideshow!
There really isn’t any reason not to jump in and be a part of P2P26.
As always, we are humbly grateful for your support!
